Project highlights include: First production of high grade, high quality copper concentrate on time and on budget. Copper price has increased over 30% since the commencement of the Refurbishment and Restart Project in November 2016. The project expects to produce approximately 30,000 tonnes per year of copper in a high grade and quality concentrate over an initial mine life of ten years. Large high grade resource, and strong exploration results to support a mine life beyond ten years with potential for further expansion. Your new role Capricorn Copper is seeking the support of an experienced Mining Engineer to join their mining operation in the Mount Isa region. Supporting the Senior Mining Engineer, your core duties will include all aspects and responsibilities of a qualified Mining Engineer. With a small team you will gain valuable exposure to all elements of underground mining, rather than being pigeon holed in a single function. You will have a unique opportunity to join a lean hands on team at the start of a mines life and will see a strong connection between your efforts and the success of the organisation. Your duties will include but not be limited to: Mine design for both sub level caving and open stoping across 5 different ore-bodies Scheduling and daily co-ordination with the mining contractor Ventilation and Services Project works on site and ore-body reviews for future targets Assistance across all disciplines in the tech services and operational functions What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role you will have 2-5 years mining experience, hold a relevant Mining Engineering degree/or qualification and have an in-depth knowledge of underground Metalliferous operations. Experience in open stoping and/or sub-level caving will be highly regarded, along with familiarity with the Deswik suite of software. You will pride yourself on safely delivering operational targets and enjoy the autonomy and accountability to see through your mine designs and ideas into direct operational outcomes.
